As a community-owned electric and natural gas utility, CPS Energy is deeply rooted in the fabric of San Antonio. Through its 163 years of service, CPS Energy has maintained the privilege of engaging with its community, listening to concerns and helping customers.
CPS Energy actively encourages community participation to ensure that customers are well-informed and have a voice in shaping the decisions that impact them. Fostering transparency and customer engagement allows CPS Energy to make better-informed decisions about how to move San Antonio forward based on the needs of our customers.
CPS Energy offers multiple avenues for customers to engage and provide feedback year-round. Upcoming open house events on Wednesday, July 26, are an opportunity for customers to connect directly with knowledgeable staff, industry experts and fellow community members.
The open house will take place at CPS Energy headquarters, located at 500 McCullough Ave., where there is plenty of free parking. Two sessions are available, 9:30–11:30 a.m. and 5:30–7:30 p.m., and everyone is welcome to attend.
During the open house, participants will have the chance to share their thoughts on how CPS Energy can serve its community and explore a range of topics and initiatives that are crucial to the growth and development of greater San Antonio. Reliability and affordability are at the core of CPS Energy’s mission.
Two key focus areas for the open house are summer energy conservation and community investments.
Given the current record high temperatures across the state, CPS Energy is providing resources to the community to aid in energy conservation and control, which lowers customers’ energy bills and relieves stress on the state’s power grid.
Programs in place include the Sustainable Tomorrow Energy Plan (STEP), which offers services such as a free HVAC tune-up and rebates on items like attic insulation to help residential and business customers save energy and money and reduce the overall demand for energy in our community.
CPS Energy’s Casa Verde program supports qualifying customers with free energy efficiency improvements to reduce energy loss.
An additional focus of this month’s open house is customer bill assistance, a top priority for the utility. CPS Energy offers payment plans and extensions, as well as assistance programs for customers who are seniors or are disabled.
CPS Energy has also implemented a new digital platform for the community and stakeholders to provide their thoughts and feedback while learning about different opportunities to engage with the utility throughout the year.
Customers can visit the newly launched website at cpsenergypublicinput.com. Currently, CPS Energy is seeking feedback on future community investments to address preferences for power generation resources, infrastructure upgrades and customer programs. The Customer Value & Investment Preference Survey is available in English and Spanish.
CPS Energy is grateful for your continued input and participation to ensure we are meeting the evolving needs of our community in the most effective way.
