Who We Are

Since 2012, hundreds of thousands of readers in the metro area have come to trust and depend on the San Antonio Report for credible, fact-based public service journalism.

Over the years, the Report has grown into a thriving online news enterprise with a year-round calendar of civic engagement events and a full time staff of 19 talented and passionate journalists and nonprofit professionals.

Angie Mock

Publisher and CEO

Angie joined the San Antonio Report as Publisher & CEO in 2020. Angie was CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio from 2011 – 2020. Under her leadership, the Clubs tripled in size, serving almost 8,000 youth per year at six clubhouses and 38 school-based sites. Her career encompasses a wide variety of disciplines including marketing, operations, finance and human resources. Angie was owner and CEO of Flagstone Hospitality Management. Under her leadership, Flagstone managed 53 hotels in 26 states with over 3,000 employees. A Tennessee native, Angie and her family have called San Antonio home since 2003.

Munsil has held staff writer, reporter, and editor positions with The Dallas Morning News, POLITICO, The Blaze, and CNN Politics, and most recently has been working as editor of CNN’s The Point with Chris Cillizza in Washington. 

Munsil holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication from Arizona State University, where she also studied Spanish and served as editor-in-chief of the university’s daily newspaper, The State Press.

Jenna Price Mallette

Jenna Price Mallette is the Chief Operating Officer for the San Antonio Report. Before joining the team, Jenna worked with the Trinity University College Advising Corps and Robot Creative. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Psychology from Trinity University.

Iris Dimmick moved to San Antonio in February 2012. Iris was born and raised in Grand Junction, Colo. and received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Central Washington University. She served as the San Antonio Report’s first managing editor for more than six years and is now happily focused on covering City Hall and other topics as senior reporter.

Blanca Méndez is the San Antonio Report’s community engagement editor. She hails from Eagle Pass and holds a degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Before joining the San Antonio Report, she worked in nonprofit communications, taught English in Seoul, and wrote about music and pop culture for GlamourRolling Stone, and Spin.

Tracy Idell Hamilton joined the Report in June 2021, after several years running corporate blogs. She moved to San Antonio in 2004 to work for the Express-News, where she spent nine years reporting on our endlessly fascinating city. Tracy cut her teeth as a reporter at several newspapers in her home state of California before earning her Master’s at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.

Science & Utilities reporter Lindsey Carnett is a San Antonio native and the former growth reporter for the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung. She graduated from Texas A&M University in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in telecommunication media studies, and previously worked as a videographer for the San Antonio Express-News.

Bria Woods joined the San Antonio Report as the Multimedia Journalist in March 2021. Her journey with the Report comes full circle after interning with us in 2016 during her senior year at Trinity University as a Communication major and after freelancing with us in 2020. Bria earned her Master’s in Multimedia Broadcast Journalism from the University of Westminster in London. She previously worked as the Executive Digital producer at KAVU-TV. Brenda Bazán is a Mexican American portrait and documentary photographer from South Texas. She has a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and will earn a master’s degree in sustainability and environmental sciences from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in May 2023. Brenda joined the San Antonio Report as a staff photographer in February 2023.

Isaac Windes joined the San Antonio Report as the education reporter in January of 2023.

He previously reported on K-12 and higher education for the Beaumont Enterprise in Southeast Texas and Early Childhood Education for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Arizona State University, where he participated in an investigative reporting fellowship and studied political science and international studies.
