Thursday is Leap Day, an extra 24 hours to Go Do That! Get out there and check out what’s happening in San Antonio.

Neotopia Books is featuring local artist Mia Santiago’s intricate sculpture with a festive opening Thursday from 5-8 p.m.

Also on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. MBS Gallery hosts a reception for the opening of a new floral-themed exhibition by photographer Ramin Samandari, the San Antonio Art League’s 2023 Artist of the Year. The space is also open again for viewing on Friday.

On First Friday, be sure to celebrate Contemporary Art Month by seeing the big perennial show at the Contemporary at Blue Star, featuring a slate of San Antonio and Houston artists.

For an off-the-beaten-track experience, head to Agarita’s new loft space on South Alamo above La Frite Belgian Bistro, for a First Friday gallery opening from 5-9 p.m. with artwork on view by Danville Chadbourne, Joshua Bushman and Andrea Guttman.

On Saturday at Jaime’s Place, the Talón Music Festival will celebrate the various sounds and subgenres of Latin America. Tickets for the all-ages event are $20 in advance and $30 at the door.

Sunday from 5-8 p.m., the Death Rights exhibition at Communion hosts a Last Meal Book Club. Guests are invited to wear what they’d like to be buried in and bring what they’d eat for their last meal. The event is free with RSVP.
