La Reina Run
Lace up your sneakers and get ready for the La Reina Run on Saturday morning, benefiting the Rape Crisis Center of San Antonio. Race day registration costs $50 for the 5K and $60 for the 10K. Summer Sweat 5K/10K
McAllister Park hosts the start of the Summer Sweat race, supporting the PTSD Foundation of America’s San Antonio chapter. The foundation’s goal is to raise awareness about PTSD and its effects on service members, first responders, and their families. The 1-mile, 5K, and 10K all start at 8 a.m. sharp. The 5K registration costs $50 and the 10K costs $60 through Friday at 4 p.m. Race day registration increases by $5. The 1-mile fun run costs $25 to enter. Canine Caper
Celebrate National Trails Day with your furry friend with a nice nature walk outside. The Phil Hardberger Conservancy is also putting on a dog parade, where pups can show off their modeling chops. Head to the Estela Avery Education Center at Confluence Park on Saturday for a free nature lesson: the San Antonio River Foundation wants to teach you more about South Texas wildlife that live in our neighborhoods. Get up close and personal with some animals native to the area, including snakes, rats, toads, and bugs.

The San Antonio Animal Care Services is heading to inBalance Alamo Ranch to provide a Pilates class for exercisers, while surrounded by good dogs. Big Bend Birthday Bash
Big Bend turns 75 this year! Friends of Big Bend National Park, Whole Earth Provisions Co., and Cherrity Bar are celebrating the milestone on Saturday with a party complete with camping demonstrations and cake. You can also use your Cherrity Bar token to “vote” for the Big Bend Conservancy and donate toward the nonprofit. Admission costs $25 and gets you two drink tickets and cake. Around the World: A Taste of the Philippines
Chef Dave Terrazas and Master Gardener Nora Richards will use the San Antonio Botanical Garden’s Outdoor Teaching Kitchen as a stage to showcase Filipino cuisine, and the unique herbs and spices that can be found in the Philippines. Need a family-friendly activity this weekend? The Magik Theatre has another week left of its production of Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka, with showtimes this weekend and ending June 8. National Museum of the Pacific War
The National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg is joining the Blue Star Museums program, which gives free admission to active-duty military personnel and their families. Individuals currently serving in the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and members of the Reserves, National Guard, U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps can visit the museum for free, and bring up to five family members with them. Qualified members must show a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card for entrance. Not a member of the military?
