McKinnon is best known for his groundbreaking work as the creator, executive producer, and co-host of Showtime’s acclaimed political documentary series “The Circus.” With unparalleled access and insightful commentary, “The Circus” has become the most successful unscripted show in the network’s history, shaping the way audiences understand the complexities of American politics.

Throughout his illustrious career, McKinnon has worked with a diverse array of causes, companies, and candidates, including former President George W. Bush, the late Sen. John McCain, the late Gov. Ann Richards and Bono. He was the chief media adviser for five winning presidential primary and general election campaigns. McKinnon’s dedication to bipartisanship led him to co-found No Labels, an organization committed to bridging the partisan divide and fostering constructive dialogue in our country.

McKinnon’s integrity and principled approach to politics have earned him accolades from across the political spectrum. Former President Bush praised his creativity and honesty, while the late Senator McCain hailed him as “almost a genius.” Former President Barack Obama has called him “a class act,” highlighting McKinnon’s reputation for integrity and professionalism. McKinnon has been awarded more than 30 Pollie and Telly Awards, which honor the nation’s best political and public affairs advertising.

In addition to his work in politics and media, McKinnon is a respected lecturer at prestigious universities such as the JFK School of Government at Harvard University and the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. He serves on the board of the Austin Film Society and has been a regular columnist for The Daily Beast and The London Daily Telegraph.

On Tuesday, April 9, McKinnon will use historical ads and clips from U.S. politics to dissect the foundational elements of successful campaigns and lessons that apply to any company or organization seeking to communicate a clear and compelling message. The event will begin with a networking coffee session starting at 7 a.m., followed by the breakfast and presentation at 7:30 a.m.
